SCRABBLE NEW ZEALAND 2026 Photo Competition
Information and Terms & Conditions
SUBMISSION:
The size of each photo should be no smaller than 1MB and no larger than 5MB and be submitted in jpeg. format. Submit your photo(s) to SNZ Photo Comp between 13 April and 10 May, 2026. When submitting, make sure your photo(s) have a Title each (not your name). Give us your name and contact details in the email. The submission period ends at 11.59pm on 10 May 2026.
JUDGING THE BEST PHOTO:
After the submission period ends, our photography judge Dr. Cathy Casey will select the best submitted photo. This photo will feature on the cover of a future edition of Scrabble NZ magazine Forwords and will also feature on the Scrabble NZ website. Photos will be judged on quality, creativity, and how Scrabble is incorporated into the shot.

“PEOPLE’S CHOICE” PHOTO:
Our judge will also select up to 20 photos to be voted on by members of the public. These photos will appear on our website after judging has been concluded, and people will vote for their favourite photo from this curated list – by poll. Only one vote per IP address/inside New Zealand will be counted. The voting period will end 26 May 2026, and the photo with the most votes will win the “People’s Choice” award.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
By entering the Competition You hereby accept these Competition Rules and the Terms and Conditions.
1. The competition is open to all members of the New Zealand public.
2. You may submit up to 6 Entries.
3. Entries must be submitted by 11.59pm 10 May 2026.
4. Images should be no smaller than 1MB and no larger than 5MB. Images should be JPEG files.
5. Images must be photographic (taken by camera or cell phone), your entry may feature manipulation.
Computer generated content cannot be the origin of the Entry.

6. You must be the sole owner and author of each Entry.
7. You confirm that any person depicted in the Entry has granted permission to be portrayed as shown.
8. Scrabble New Zealand recognizes that You, the author of the image, retain full ownership of the copyright in each Entry.
9. All Entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used by the Scrabble New Zealand, for marketing and promotional purposes. You hereby grant a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable licence, for use in all media.
10. We reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any entry we deem as offensive content.
11. The Judge’s decision for the Best Photo is final, and the selection of the “People’s Choice” photos (to be voted on by the NZ public), is also final.
